Central Amherst Little League Registration

Little League Season Schedule

Each team is scheduled to play 1 weekday evening game and 1 Saturday morning or afternoon game per week, for a season total of about 16-18 games. The 2023 season will begin in late April and conclude in early July. Rainouts will be made up when possible.

*Note: Several "game" dates at the T-Ball and A-Ball level will be used for in-season Player Clinic sessions.

Approximate Key Dates

November-March: Registration

Mid March: Coach selection

Late March: Team drafts for AA Junior-Majors levels

Early April: Player notification for all levels. Practices begin. Uniforms distributed.

Late April: Regular season begins

June: Regular season ends/playoffs begin (AA Junior-Majors levels)

Late June / Early July (weather dependent): Playoffs and season ends

Challenger League Season

The Challenger League, for players with special needs and physical disabilities, plays games on Sundays (from May through July) at the Central Amherst fields. For questions regarding Challenger baseball, please contact David Whalen at or 716-286-7355.

Register for the 2023 Challenger League

* Players are required to provide their own batting helmets. If a player needs assistance please reach out and we will do our best to accomidate them.

Age Levels

T-Ball (Tee and coach pitch) • Co-ed ages 4 and 5 • Children born between May 1, 2017 and August 31, 2019.

A-Ball (First-year machine pitch) • Co-ed age 6 • Children born between May 1, 2016 and April 30, 2017.

AA Junior (Second-year machine pitch) • Co-ed ages 7 • Children born between May 1, 2015 and April 31, 2016.

AA Senior (First-year player pitch) • Co-ed ages 8 • Children born between May 1, 2014 and April, 2015.

AAA (Player pitch) • Co-ed ages 9-10 • Children born between May 1, 2012 and April 30, 2014.

Majors (Player pitch) • Co-ed ages 11-12 • Children born between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2012.

Seniors • Co-ed ages 13-16 • Children born between May 1, 2007 and April 30, 2011.

Challenger League (for players with special needs) • Co-ed, children and adults.

Based on the list above please choose the age-appropriate level for your child.

*If you would like to request an exception to the age requirements for your child, please go ahead and register him/her in the level that their actual birthdate requires, then contact Brian Emerson at to request placement in a different level.

2023 League Registration Fees

T-Ball (age 4-5) Base Cost: $155

Seniors (ages 13-16) Base Cost: $180

All Other Levels (ages 6-12) Base Cost: $170

Raffle Fee: A $40 charge is added to the base cost of each player registered to cover the cost of 8 raffle tickets. This fee is recovered by selling your raffle tickets. This fee is included in the family maximum. The raffle drawing (with cash prizes) is held at the annual league picnic.

Family Maximum: The family maximum is $500 (This includes the base cost plus the $40 per player Raffle Fee)

Please note that your child cannot be placed on a team until their registration has been paid in full.

Central Amherst Little League will NEVER turn away anyone due to financial hardship. Suitable arrangements can always be worked out. Please contact League President Chris Schiller at with any questions. All requests will be kept strictly confidential.

Playing with Friends

Playing baseball with friends is a great way to enjoy baseball at a young age.  If you have friends or relatives that you would like to play with, please provide their names in the registration porcess.  Central Amherst will attempt to accomodate these requests in T-ball and A ball.  Higher levels have a draft and cocahes will attempt to accomodate requests but may be limited to do so.
